IT'S A NIGHTMARE AND I'M AWAKE, WHAT'S UP WITH THIS?
I used that think that when the Rott barked it was at the neighbor's cat or neighbor's kid selling fruit of freshly fried pastry. If the dog barked long enough, I'd run for the purse for some change.
These days, I run to hide, fearing that there'd be some hard pushing against the door and I'd be in a locked room wishing I would have been brave enough to have allowed hubby the option to buy me a gun to protect me while he was away. The fence and the security system is really nothing if the guy has a gun. He can get inside the house and hold me hostage long before the company can get the police on the phone and long before either can find a working vehicle to my house. If I don't have cash and a working car to give the prisoner and if I don't do right by him.....he's nothing to lose....and I have everything to lose....my life, probaby by way of a heart attack because I'm having one just thinking that I'm a sitting duck in this house by myself....without a gun and I really don't do well with a rusty machete and the knives don't cut tomatoes let alone huge arms like those guys have.....and it's been five days....they be desperate people...by now, they want more than water, smokes and food...
It used to be that in order to be 'live' on Guam, you needed a big water tank for water outages, a big generator for power outages, a good working cell phone for phone outages and it appears that we need to either build a 'panic room', or become like those who live in the Philippines......behind tall limestone fences with broken glass(or barbed wire) on top......isn't it ironic that we have our own version of terrorists and they're home grown from DOC that come out to play once or twice a month and that the people that guard them are so few we can't even lay them off......it's like haveing foxes watching hen houses......not being able to let the foxes out because we have nothing else to watch the hens! What have we wrought?
