MARIANAS VARIETY ON ABORTION
In an article in today's Marianas Variety by Gerado Partido,"A group of concerned citizens have been protesting at the Paul’s Plaza building in Tamuning to protest the practice of abortion on island.
The group is led by Rev. Frank Tenorio from the Archdiocese of Agana.
Although he says he came on his own, Tenorio is considered by many as Archbishop Anthony Apuron’s right hand man in several projects, including Catholic radio, the homeless shelter program, and the church’s pro-life committee. “The baby in the womb is really and truly a human being, a brother and sister to each and everyone of us. So we have to defend the baby,” Tenorio told Variety. "
You can read the article, it's on-line...I agree...life begins at conception and that it's murder when you snuff out that life by whatever means you choose....I feel that your choice should be before that sexual act and not after. If you choose not to become pregnant, then choose whatever means there are out there not to become pregnant. Abortion is not a means of birth control.
Unfortunately, this is where I get in trouble with the church. I feel that Catholics should lighten up and let the boys and girls(yes, boys and girls have sex---just look at the numbers of teen pregnancies) use condoms and birth control pills....the kids that have kids grow up to be parents that abuse kids because they don't know how to raise them, aren't ready to be parents, don't know how to work, aren't ready to work because they're still children and still want to play, to be children. Perhaps if this gentleman spent his time at places where teens gathered and handed out condoms, there wouldn't be so many teens climbing those steps to the offices of Freeman and Griley for abortions because no one told them that they could have prevented the pregnancy if they had used a condom.
If you don't want your teenager to be pregnant or cause a teen to become pregnant.....talk to them about using birth control.....life is hard enough without having to raise a child while you're still one!
And if I were brave and not afraid of public criticism, I'd carry a poster that said just that, right next to that man at Paul's Plaza.
