THE SEVENTH JAIN TRAIL
Will it be of interest or will it be reported at the end of newscasts, buried at the back on the papers?
A friend remembers...I think the trial may be the one that hit the pregnant woman(killed her and her 8-month old fetus) on route 8-wonder when that road will be re-named).
Here's what my friend had to say about the dude; "On the Micronesian topic Charo...tomorrow is supposed to be the start of the J7 Jain trial. Remember that he's one of, I believe, three Jain brothers
who like to get juiced up and kill people on Guam's roads with their
unregistered, uninsured cars and them with no driver's license. They get deported with a 'don't come back', but do anyway and do it all over again. It's another case of out of sight, out of mind. I'm keeping an eye on this Jain to see if and when he goes to trial and what happens to him. Another deportation w/o paying a penalty here? "
No one seems to want to talk about the amount of problems the Micronesians seem to be having on our roads. It should be addressed if not to keep them alive, then to save our lives, the woman and her fetus were local.
We've got to come to grips with the heavy migration here and have to figure a way to tell them that they can't drink and walk on the roads, can't drink and party, can't drink and drive....perhaps, can't drink at all. I'm not sure that they have problems with their Kava drinks, perhaps they should stick to that and stay off Marine Drive(or any 'drive). There are several evangelical churches that Micronesians attend, the pastors aren't doing their members any favors by not holding classes after church and talking frankly about what happens when you come to a totally different place and become a totally different person never having had the time to practice being that different person.....It saddens me to hear that a 25 year old woman from Chuuk was killed because she crossed a street(a small street at that) between Santa Fe Hotel and some small mart on the old Gibson road(oh god, they changed that road's name and I don't remember what it is! Is it Carlos Camacho Street? I know it's not Ricardo Bordallo, that's in Anigua, or is that in Yona?)
Anyway, it's time some newsperson got together with GPD's stats person and do a story on how many Micronesians are involved in DUIs, DUIs with injuries/fatalities, family violence, etc.....jail, etc....bet the number's pretty startling......that agreement between the US and the Federated States of Micronesia...it's pretty appropriate....Compact Impact.......we're pretty 'impacted'!
