GovGuam won't be in the Christmas mode anytime soon....won't even be selling parcels of land for $500.per square meter so that poor souls can build themselves concrete homes and vote for their new best friends! They saw through the botox and a lot of people came forward and there will be no early Christmas and those that live in substandard homes can choose to get off welfare and find jobs that will afford the possibility of owning a concrete home or...staying and collecting a FEMA check every time a typhoon blows his house away...the way a man lives will always be his choice.
There are non-profic organizations that will help people who want to help themselves. Look around at the Habitat for Humanity buildings and see living proof of how life choices are made in the worst situations.
There are a few Spanish proverbs that come to mind...perhaps you know a few yourself....:"The dog that doesn't walk doesn't find a bone. You can't succeed if you don't try. To God praying and with the mallet using. [God helps those who help themselves He who follows it attains it. [You get what you work for.]
Lastly, on choices: "The shrimp that falls asleep gets carried away by the current." How many of us have fallen asleep?
